Changing Fashions in Dress

Fashion is as old as the worked itself. The first man in earth dressed himself and his consort with beautiful articles of stone, shell and bones. He covered hi person with leaves and branches ofthe trees or even with the skin of wild animals. Then he learnt the art of stiching, draping and sewing. He wore very simple dress. Loose clothes both of cotton and wool were his liking. He believed in everything simple anf unshowy. His main aim was to cover his body.


With the advancement in the art of spinning, weaving and sewing all sort of clothes-silken woolen and cotton, there has been a sea-change. Now the man weaves superfine cl\clothes of all different qualities, patterns and dessigns.Now thw age of coarse and simple cotton cloth is outof place.

Today is an era of changing fashions. All types of fabrics are flooded in the market. The cloth-shops and showrooms are always over-crowded. To see the navy rush on fabric emporium one gets an impression that we Indians are least poor. We are the citizens of a very rich and fabulous country. New clothes of all cuts, fashions, colours are available plentifully. Fancy dresses are the order of the day. Clothes of bright colours made from silk, crepe, rayon and nylon are much in demand. Tight and sleeveless dresses are in vogue. These days boys wear girls' dress and girls are majestically strolling in men's attire. What a drastic change it is!

Our changing fashions are the gifts of our stars of movie land. They copy this fashion from the west. They are extraordinary cute and smart. In a song or dance sequence, the hero and the heroine change their dress with every line of the song. What a great waste of clothes! The fashionable ladies of the upper strata of society exhibit their dresses in Fashion Parades. Most of us, both boys and girls-steal their manners of putting on gaudy clothing
. Fashions change with time. Modern age is highly fashionable age. We wear neat and tidy clothes. Outmoded and outdated clothes are discarded outright. We are highly clothes-conscious. We may eat something or not, but top class dresses we must put on.
